Founding attorney A. Harrison Barnes handles a variety of litigation and transactional matters. His litigation work includes general civil and commercial disputes, real estate and securities fraud cases, employment and entertainment matters, and personal injury cases. On the transactional side, he advises international companies and foreign governments on investment-related matters. He also handles general contract and real estate matters.
Prior to founding Harrison Barnes PLC, Mr. Barnes was an associate in the Los Angeles offices of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Sullivan, LLP and Dewey Ballantine LLP. He clerked for United States District Judge Robert H. Cleland in Bay City, Michigan and taught professional responsibility at Whittier Law School.
In addition to his legal work, Mr. Barnes is a prolific author and the founder of one of the most respected legal search firms in the world, BCG Attorney Search. He writes a daily career advice column and one of his companies publishes the highly regarded BCG Attorney Search Guide to America’s Top 50 Law Schools.
He is a frequent lecturer on recruiting and law firm issues and has been retained as an expert witness in court cases involving the legal market. His articles about law firms have been used in numerous law school classes.
