Lauren Valente handles both litigation and transactional matters for Harrison Barnes PLC. She has particular expertise in real estate deals, complex commercial finance transactions and general corporate matters.
Ms. Valente joined the firm after beginning her legal career in New York City. As an associate at Cullen and Dykman LLP, she helped represent banks and financial institutions in commercial lending transactions, syndicated loans, derivatives, interest rate swaps, letters of credit, as well as in foreclosures and loan workouts. She also was in-house counsel for Indian Country Today Media Network, where she provided finance, employment and general corporate advice in connection with a multi-platform media venture.
She also worked at Platzer, Swergold, Karlin, Levine, Goldberg & Jaslow, LLP, where she helped represent banks such as Citibank and HSBC in litigation and transactional matters involving commercial contracts, equipment leases, commercial property leases, distribution and license agreements, equity arrangements and ancillary commercial arrangements and collections.
Ms. Valente is a gifted oral advocate who placed among the top oral advocates at the prestigious Joseph T. Tinnelly Moot Court Competition. As part of her work for Platzer, Swergold, she made daily court appearances, including conferences, arbitrations, inquests and motions, and oral arguments in both Supreme and Civil Courts.
