Jores “Jay” Kharatian comes to Harrison Barnes PLC with extensive knowledge of the business and legal side of complex financial transactions. Before going to law school at Pepperdine, Mr. Kharatian was an analyst at Wells Fargo Advisors in Century City, where he worked on stock and bond valuations as well as market and portfolio analysis. He assists firm lawyers with transactional and litigation matters involving real estate, corporate and securities law, investment structures, financings, and compliance issues.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Kharatian worked as a law clerk for Tallen & Keshen Holdings, LLC in Santa Monica, where he assisted with the acquisition of an asset services company and analyzed transactions for investment opportunities. He also worked for Kaiku Finance, LLC in Los Angeles, researching the prepaid debit card industry and reviewing nondisclosure and partnership agreements.
At Pepperdine, he worked as a research assistant for Professor Jack Coe and contributed research for the revised Third Restatement of the United States Law of Commercial International Arbitration. He also clerked for the high-profile criminal defense firm Geragos & Geragos, APC in Los Angeles.
Mr. Kharatian has volunteered for Christian Legal Aid of Los Angeles in Inglewood, CA, participating in monthly clinics to educate people about their rights.
